Privacy.

In short: no account, no ads, no resale. Your answers are only used to produce your shared result and are deleted after 30 days.

Data we process

  • First names entered to personalise the experience (no surnames are asked: feel free to use a nickname).
  • Answers and bets from each person in the duo.
  • Optional email address of the initiator, to be notified when the other person answers. It is deleted as soon as that message is sent.
  • Waitlist email address, if you ask to be notified when a duo launches.
  • Payment: handled by Stripe. Duolya never sees or stores your card details; we only keep proof of payment linked to the duo.
  • Technical data: server logs kept by the host for security.

Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing the service you request (comparing answers, showing the result): performance of the service.
  • Notifying you by email or of a launch: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Handling payments and accounting: legal obligation.

What the other person sees

No answers are visible until both people have finished. Then the result compares your answers: some are shown side by side. Bets are revealed in the duel. Your answers are never visible to anyone other than the two members of the duo.

Retention

  • Duos (first names, answers, bets): 30 days, then automatic deletion. Immediate deletion is available from the result.
  • Notification email: deleted once sent.
  • Waitlist: until the relevant duo launches, or 24 months at most.
  • Payment records: as required by accounting law.

Recipients and transfers

Hosting: Namecheap, Inc. (USA). Payment: Stripe. These providers may process data outside the European Union; such transfers must be covered by appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or the Data Privacy Framework). [to complete]

Cookies and local storage

Duolya currently uses no advertising cookies or analytics trackers. The site saves your duo links in your browser (local storage) so you can find them again. You can remove them at any time by clearing the site’s data.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object, restrict and port your data. Write to [email protected] with your duo link. You may also contact your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Duolya is for adults only. Each participant confirms this before answering.
